Hmmm... Maybe a Ring/Evenstar power overhaul. You know, like maybe one of the 25 point powers could be remade to be, like, a dragon storm that would call like 4 dragons that would burn a whole big area or something like that. Anyway, something like that.

we need some new mods released. people still play BFME games but theres so little being released lately, which is a shame cos most of the stuff on this site is amazingly good quality.

Maybe some new powerpoint changes are needed, but instead why not just create new factions of those?
I agree, mods aren't being released quick enough but that's to ensure quality over quantity. There are many updates and we have plenty of mods that have recently been updated to choose from. I'm sure plenty of mods will be released before I announce my Mod of the Year awards, as I will be telling mod developers first when I will having it, asking them if their mod could be released as a beta version, so people can at least test it out.

I'm with #4, lol. A Bfme3 would be awesome, particularly one based in some time other than the third age or late second age. And it'd also be nice to be able to build massive armies, say, up to 200,000 troops, have a Stronghold-like fortification system in which you can make your own fortification designs, and so on. We can all dream, can't we?
I visit this site everyday. So you have at least one visitor here on just about everyday, or whenever I can manage to. I'd be willing to help out here if there were ever the need. I'm experienced on tech and design, files and submissions end, but not too much on advertising, and I'm seeing that this is mainly what we need here - some form of advertising that works, or something that gets out there to make the series more appealing.
Conquest was alright...um...in certain ways. Just not alright enough. It really didn't give us (the LotR community in general) much more to work with than we had before. It was one of those "swing and a miss" games that didn't quite do it. The series can't afford any more disappointments like Conquest. The next game is either all or nothing, and there's really not much the community can do, aside from those who actually work on designing these games. We can't depend on EA to hear our suggestions and feedback for how to design better games, or how to satisfy its customers and show some effort after a game is released. We have enough trouble getting them to do a patch, let alone a freaking game.
I hope for some possibility of Bfme3, but I think it's been such a long time since the last one that it probably couldn't happen. Right now, whatever we got to work with is what we got to work with. It may be quite a long time until a new game comes out.
If anything, we need to look to breakthroughs with Rhovanion Alliance and other mods. Modder inspiration brings people here, so some mod that comes out with some new ground-breaking feature may inspire people enough to really get in the mood for the series again. Maybe walls for Bfme2 that troops can walk on, with build plots where you can build stairs onto the walls, so that you can choose where to build stairs so that enemy troops can't just get up there. Maybe the ability to build a second advanced builder who has weapons and stuff, and can build advanced structures such as research buildings advanced uber hero armor, explosive arrow tips, catapults for the Elves that can be upgraded with Silverthorne artillery, and perhaps an advanced fortress or fortress upgrade that builds a wall around your fortress, adding protection to it...at a hefty cost. And if I went any further I'd be getting into forbidden territories, such as lasers, transwarp conduits, and photon torpedoes.
Hopefully the games pick up some new users and they learn of this place, come here, and become the next generation modders.

The only way I could see BFME3 getting made would be if the people who got the license back from EA decided to try their skills with a RTS and slapped it with the Battle for Middle Earth logo so that people who liked the first two would buy it (even if it was really different).

I think for a start you should be able to repair prop walls so when some nasty person goes and blows a hole in your wall at say helms deep you can go repair it instead of having to send about 5 groups of soldiers to go and be a wall and die. I also think there should be a bigger range of ships cause the Men of the West don't have their own ships they use elven ones...and so do the elves (obviously) and the dwarves...which is boring and their should be sea monsters like a kraken but I mean a wild one that would attack anyones ships so it just the water. Things that make the game different and add more variety and generally more oomph. Also more gametypes would be good I mean for a start you could have some kind of CTF with the ring as the flag. Another thing that would make the game good would be to vastly improve scale so you could have a mountain which you can build up like minas tirith then a bridge going across a vast canyon so you can see the canyon walls just plummet into darkness like on the second movie where they are at Minas Morgul. Also I think there is a lot to be done with the battle animations because when your soldiers run they don't look like they are clunking an outfit of metal and a big metal blade around they just seem to run smoothly whereas they wouldn't be able to run all the time and they would have the battle noise of marching and clanking armour and stuff also with the actual fighting it could look more like a battle that a game of tag it's like you hit me....I hit you....you hit me....I hit you and it doesn't look brutal it just looks like a moderatly softswing the animations need to be sharper more brutal and look like it takes effort and that they are actually trying to kill the guy and defend themselves like when they are against archers if you got attacked by archers you wouldn't stand there while arrows pierced your skull, neck, chest and whatever else you would put your shield up and attempt to prevent yourself from being skewered so battle animations need a vast improvement if they make a BFME3. And last of all if someone modded a good one would be to have more upgrades and make it much much harder to get your best units and best upgrades so that the game doesn't progress to it's highest within 5-10 minutes because that isn't the point in strategy games your supposed to think what you NEED to get rather than be able to just spam with cheap units to buy time so that when them units are dead you have twice as many of your best units ready cause it makes it boring it doesn't make more excitement of getting decent units because the decent units seem common if you get what I'm saying.

The community links on every Network site has been compromised and they redirected to a illegal warez site.
We have corrected this but unfortunately we could not recover the links to restore them. As a result all of the links have been deleted to protect the people who sent the original links into us.
While this could be seen to be a set back we are taking the view that although this has caused all the staff some extra work it is still a good time for a fresh start as some of the links were probably dead ones.
Some site managers have already started restoring known links on there sites
We would like you to either resubmit any link you had on your chosen site and submit new ones.

The good people at Clanwarz have kindly donated a 100 slot Ventrilo server to us all here. The server is there for all FileFront patrons including the Network, Forums and main site.
It gives a great opportunity to get know each other a little better and maybe even get together in game.
As you have probably noticed in the Left menu on most (soon to be all) sites the new Ventrilo section. You can join the server by having Ventrilo installed and user name set. Then simply click the link in the left menu and join the channel that want.
If you wist to set it up manually then here are the server details
Ip / host name: nyc.clanwarz.com
Port: 4220 <<< important as it is not the default port.

Have you ever been looking over your favourite game site and thought that you could really help out ?
If the answer is yes then we would like to hear from you. We are now recruiting staff for all sites and hopefully some new ones.
Some of our sites are fully staffed at the moment but don't let that stop you from applying to join our very friendly team here.
If your preferred site is fully staffed you will still be contacted to see if you could help out on a different site. We will still pass your details on to the site manager for that site just incase they need a extra pair of hands.
So what do we need from you to join us. Well not much really to start with.
First you must be 16 or over and have regular Internet access.
You must have good understanding of English (this is for news items and so on)
You must own the game for the site/s you are applying for, with the ability to run custom content (for testing submitted files)
If your application is accepted then you will also be required to register on our forums and visit the staff section at least once a week as updates and requests are posted there.
To apply simply copy the below template into a email and send it of to network@filefront.com
Make sure you fill out the games section including the ones that we do not have sites for at the moment.
Besides the big changes, there are a lot of little things that are bound to make every player happy. Food, craftable potions and Minstrels’s Lute Strings will stack to 50. Better yet Traveling Rations and reputation tokens as well as all crafting ingredients and components will stack to 100. And of course everyone should be thrilled that the emote for slapping fellow players with a fish is fixed.
One further piece of advice, those blasted Honey and Oats recipes are about to become rare drops. Read the LotRO : Mines of Moria Book 8 patch notes at the LotRO Lorebook.
Here we have some MotW starting strategies, you can see them work in real time with me explaining how they work and showing you exactly what to do.
The first is a Solder strategy, using a double rax rush to counter spamming opponents like Goblins and Mordor for example.
The second is a Knight rush, this is extremely useful against Elves as they tend to go archers first which if they do your soldiers really can't do anything as their archers are so strong, this is counter the archer spam for Elves. As the Elves go pikes, you can go soldiers or rangers even, the choice is yours.

The guide is pretty self explanatory, it's not the whole match-up but just the start of it showing you how to build up and where. The video pretty much explains the rest and I'm making a whole lot more for all the factions and doing all of the starting strategies. My next one for Dwarves will definitely be the great battering ram rush.
In an effort to try and fill in a gap of tournaments for the Battle For Middle-Earth games, and to generate a little bit of competition and fun for the community, Gamepsy will be hosting a BFME2 Tournament on July 11th at 11am PST. Make sure your on BFME2 that day and I suppose in the Tournament lobby but I suppose more information will be released for the tournament date.. The winner of this Event will be receiving a 1 month Founders Club subscription that includes the GameSpy, IGN Insider, and Fileplanet websites. Gamespy would also like to make these tournaments on a regular monthly basis, if the interest is high enough this time around, to keep the community going and especially the competitive part of the community going.

I am pleased to announce a few promotions for the network.
Mr.Funsocks, the lovable, huggable Network Administrator has been promoted to Asst. Network Manager and will become my right hand dealing with issues that arise on FileFront's game sites.
Goody10 of soldier of fortune files has been promoted to Network Administrator. FFxStalkerx of stalker files has been promoted to Network Administrator. Guyver3212 of WoWFiles has been promoted to Network Administrator.
The above three have shown fierce determination in ensuring that the network thrives and pushes forward. When it came to the need to add some fresh faces to fill in those ranks, it certainly wasn't easy to sift through all of the staff who easily deserve such recognition of their hard work, but these three came out on top and I'm sure you will see great things happen with them lurking about.
Congrats to all of you. Each and every one of you has earned this and should be proud!
The Mod Center is finally up and running! With trying to juggle my social life, to looking and applying to uni's then to revision and now exams, the new Mod Center is all up and running!
I have only updated all the mods that was on the previous mod center into the new one so if your mod is missing please forgive me, as I am in the process of updating it. I am also in the stage of putting in the best mod screenshots for the mod screenshots page, so please send in screenshots of a mod you are using and put the title as the mod name plus your caption so I can put it on the mod screenshot page.
If you would like to have an interview for your mod, to get some publicity feel free to email me and ask, if you don't I'll be emailing you shortly (I'll give my email at the end of the post as everything applies to that). I will be doing mod reviews as and when the time comes and I'll give you an email when I do so you can have a look and post it up on your site or forums.
If your mod is not featured on the site, please email me! I would like to get the Mod Center perfect and 100% completed by the end of July with lots of updates and features on it.

Unfortunately I cannot add a new PotM to the left hand menu or even edit the left hand menu for that matter, if I do the menu will reset itself to what it was to around a year ago. There is a way round it but it's extremely long and I don't really understand it to be honest.
I will make a document and post the PotM as a news post so you all can see who got what place anyway but that's the most I'm going to be able to do. The bug is being worked on so hopefully I'll be able to add that in the PotM section.
Morgoth946 has posted a big update with lots of screens of new models and textures for the mod.

The units of Nargothrond are soldiers armed with spears, archers, and the workers. The last ones can build mines, which develope upgrades, give resources and increase the population limit. Probably I'll make them able to construct the siege machines (just like the dwarves).
They're all made in the fortress, which can be upgraded with walls and trebuchets and ballistas (not done yet).
The upgrades are made. However, the improved weapons and the fire arrows are impossible to make their effects look good, so I won't show them now.
