Defence Of Gondor V4 (4.0) - File Description

Description:

This is 4th version of DOG. We made some changes in Minas Tirith, Osgiliath and attack waves.

Changes:
-small gates removed in Minas Tirith
-Osgiliath looks better
-elves removed from Rohan army. Dunno why they were there anyway...
-to reduce lag were removed but rest of them have now higher rank
-2 troll bosses added
-players can now go across river in Osgiliath

I'm so luck I get to download the map and test it before I post it, this is a MUST DOWNLOAD! I played on this map for 4 hours on LAN with some friends and they loved it!

To reduce lag we removed some orcs. it seems i forgot to write "orcs" in description. and what do you think about difficulty? we aren't sure if it is too easy.

The difficulty is fine, although I understand from the previous version is was getting laggy and you had to remove some orcs. What happens if you tried to use some units that didn't use as much command points as orcs, would that work a little better?

Yeah, that may be good idea, but it wouldn't be so realistic anymore. I mean, army which sieged MT was mainly orc army if I'm not totally wrong. But we leave it like that at least for now because we have other maps under construction.

you give the enemy too many forces it makes the game go very slow

Yes, we know that we give enemy lot of units and it might make game slow and sometimes it can be painful if your computer isn't good enough. But removing too many orcs makes it too easy and if we remove some more and give rest of them max lvl for example makes them hard and painful to kill. We are going to make yet another version which is going to be last. Hopefully we can make it run a little smoother...
